What to Cook When Your Fridge Feels Random

You open the fridge and nothing makes sense together. Some leftover veggies, a block of cheese, eggs, and half a jar of salsa. This is not a problem — this is dinner.

The formula

Pick a base (rice, pasta, bread, tortilla), add a protein (eggs, beans, cheese, leftover meat), add a vegetable, and add a sauce or seasoning. That is a meal.

Stop overthinking it

You do not need a recipe for every meal. Some of the best dinners come from using what you already have.

Reduce waste

The food in your fridge has a shelf life. Use the older items first. If something looks or smells off, throw it out — but do not assume food is bad just because it is not perfectly fresh.
